Excellent

The Penmorvah Manor Hotel contains a hidden surprise! Nestled within their safely enclosed grounds you will find these luxurious little family cottages, all devised to give you privacy on your staycation. The hotel itself has been in operation since 1872; so at Penmorvah they have been perfecting the family holiday since before any of us were even born.

Penmorvah is five minutes by car from the beaches of Falmouth and lies in its own set of luscious gardens. It has its own restaurant and bar that you have full use of as a cottage dweller. The cottages are self-catering, so you will need to pay for the services, but their restaurant has a reputation for being worth it.

So what else can you find in the Penmorvah Cottages for your family? Let’s take a closer look.

Situated on the south coast of Cornwall, the gardens and the beaches are all within reach during your stay at Penmorvah. What else do they have to offer? Here are some of our favourite amenities at this location:

Our Verdict: Penmorvah Manor Holiday Cottages
Our Verdict
We had a thoroughly enjoyable few days at The Stables in Penmorvah Manor Holiday Cottages. This reverse level cottage was plenty spacious for the four of us with two bedrooms on the ground floor and an open plan upstairs kitchen/diner and lounge area. The kid’s bedroom had bunk beds and sat opposite the adult bedroom which featured a very handy en-suite shower room. A modern bathroom with a decent sized bath completed the downstairs level.

Upstairs the well-equipped kitchen had everything a young family might need including plastic plates for the kids. In the lounge area, the sofa bed and armchair were particularly comfortable, which we enjoyed relaxing on with a beverage each evening after the kids had gone to bed!

The cottage felt ‘modern farmhouse’, where pine meets soft pastel colours. The standard of furniture was decent and not too tired, which is often the case with some self-catering establishments.

The 6 acres that the cottages sit in alongside the Penmorvah Manor Hotel itself, was a great place for the kids to hang out. Most evenings we would play outside with the kids, especially around the tree house/climbing frame structure, and the views towards Falmouth were spectacular too.

The Penmorvah Manor Hotel is used predominantly for functions and I can imagine it being the perfect venue to get married in with features like the fabulous Sundeck outside area. We did try the hotel's breakfast once which, although nice enough, was quite sparse with only one rasher of bacon, which was a tad disappointing considering the price.

It’s closeness to Falmouth makes it, as their website states, "A good base to explore this part of the Cornish coast". We concur and, with it being dog-friendly too, we can thoroughly recommend staying here for a Cornish family adventure!
